Whatever happened to Attack of the Mutant Zombie Flesh Eating Chickens
from Mars? This is still being debated, and opinion is divided on
whether Attack of Mutant Zombie Flesh Eating Chickens from Mars WAS
in the end released by Software Projects. Some people think it did
star Zippo the dog, but it wasn't the game Matthew Smith wrote. It
was released under the name Star Paws as a budget title. The game is
very different to Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy, and featured a lot of
puzzles.
However, Star Paws started out as a C=64 game, and was converted to the
Spectrum. It announces the following in it's demo mode:
The C=64 author was John Darnell, it was converted by Ste Cork,
and the graphics were by Peter Gough. The 128 music was by Tim
Follin. Software Creations are the name used by Ste & Peter.
Sad to say, but no mention of a Matthew "God" Smith. But that doesn't
mean it wasn't the intended game. The debate continues...
The full title of this game is "Attack of the Mutant Zombie Flesh-Eating
Chickens from Mars starring Zippo the Dog" but is often abreviated
to AOTMZFECFM.
